of Veterans

Over 18.4 million men and women have served our country in uniform. Close to 6.7 million served in Vietnam, and 2.4 million have served in direct support of operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Over 4 million of these Veterans returned from service with physical and mental disabilities and over 40,000 are homeless.

Save-A-Joe, Inc. believes that together with our community members we can raise funds to help our Veteran Service Organizations better help our Veterans.

All of our Veterans are part of an all-volunteer force that willingly stood up to defend our country and now it is our turn to help those Veterans.

The Annual Bowling for Veterans event is always a blast! This event is always the 1st Sunday in March, and we have been hosting this event since 2013! Thank you to everyone that contributes, participates and donates!! Save-A-Joe has been able to donate every year to the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans in Wheaton, IL! That is all because of you and your willingness to give and to help our Veterans. Thank you so very much!

Save-A-Joe Pub Crawl

Our annual Save-A-Joe Pub Crawl is always amazing! This event is held on the 3rd Saturday of October each year, and our purpose was to raise money to help our Veterans in need. 100% of the money raised will help with Veteran Suicide, Homelessness, and Financial Aid and with your help we have been able to raise and donate over $50,000 from this event alone so far!

Thank you to everyone that came out and made our 1st Annual Save-A-Joe 5K Run an amazing success. We hope to see you again next year and that you bring all of your friends too!

The total amount of money that you raised in this years event is $8,400 and Save-A-Joe was able to make donations to the following charitable organizations that help our Veterans:

– $5,000 was donated to Piece of Cake Bakery for ‘Operation Sweet Tooth’ which sends fresh baked goods to our deployed Soldiers

If you know of a deployed Soldier that could use some fresh baked goods from home please contact Diane at Piece-A-Cake Bakery (@PieceAcakeBakery) and share that Soldiers information so that Operation Sweet Tooth can support them!

– $1,550 was donated to the Midwest Shelter for Homeless Veterans

– $1,000 was donated to the LaSalle Veterans Home in LaSalle, IL

– $1,000 was donated to the Illinois Motorcycle Freedom Run that built and maintains the Middle East Conflicts Wall Memorial in Marseilles, IL
